PROVO — St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 50 W. 200 North, will celebrate the Christian Feast of Pentecost, Sunday, June 3, at the 9:30 a.m. Eucharist.
Pentecost occurs seven weeks or 50 days after Easter and commemorates the events described in the second chapter of Acts of the Apostles in the New Testament.
At this Eucharist there will be special scripture readings, ceremonies, prayers and decorations for the church. The altar hangings and vestments of the priest will be red in memory of the tongues of fire spoken of in Acts.
