GLACIER NATIONAL PARK (AP) — An elderly Salt Lake City man fell to his death here Thursday after apparently losing his balance while stopped at a scenic overlook along the Going-to-the-Sun Road, park officials said.
Spokesman Dave Eaker said Don Harris, 85, fell from the Crystal Point Lookout Thursday afternoon. He fell about 500 feet, landing on a lower portion of the road, which has numerous switchbacks through the mountains.
Harris was with his wife, son and grandchildren at the time of the accident, authorities said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene when park rangers reached him.
