NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — The parents of a Seton Hall student killed in a dormitory fire last year have settled a wrongful death claim against the university for $200,000.
John Giunta, 18, was one of three freshmen killed in the fire on Jan. 19, 2000, that also injured 62 people.
Citing a confidentiality agreement, neither Giunta's parents, Phillip Giunta and Debra Goudy, nor Seton Hall would discuss the settlement, which will be paid by the university's insurance carrier.
