Dorothy Mina (Jacobsen) Cowley, age 89, passed away July 6, 2001 in Woodbridge, Virginia. She was born July 17, 1911 in Cove, Utah to William Christian and Annie Elizabeth Griffin Jacobsen. Married Irvin Russell Cowley on March 27, 1931 in Farmington. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1998. Dorothy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, worked in Primary and Cub Scouts. Member of Salt Lake County Fireman's Auxiliary and was an avid fisherman.

Survived by two sons Dr. I. Jack Cowley (Barbara), Montague, California; Russell A. Cowley (Sharon), Florence, Oregon; daughter - Rene'e Fowkes (Stephen), Dale City, Virginia; brother - Boyd Jacobsen, The Dallas, Oregon; sister - Joyce Maughan, Smithfield, Utah; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, son - Ronald W. Cowley, grandson - Dale Cowley, sisters - Pauline Huillet, Faye Rasmuson, and brother - Wendall Jacobsen.

Funeral services will be held Fri. July 13, 2001, 12 noon at Holladay 14th Ward Chapel, 4917 So. Viewmont St., (2085 E.) where family and friends may call from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment Holladay Memorial Park. Directors-Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
