RICHFIELD — A meeting will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Snow College South Campus in Richfield to allow students, faculty and the general public to comment on the search for a new college president. Students will give input from 10 to 11 a.m.; faculty from 11 a.m. to noon and the public after that time.
"The president of an institution such as Snow is not only the leader of the college, but also a community leader," said Search Committee chairman Michael Jensen of the State Board of Regents. "We want very much to keep the community in mind. The search committee includes regents, members of the Snow College Board of Trustees, representatives from the faculty, staff and student body and community representatives.
The committee will meet at 1 p.m. at the conclusion of the comment periods to begin reviewing the applicant pool. Semifinalists will be interviewed in late August or early September and a final list will be sent to the Board of Regents. It is expected a new president will be named this fall.
The new president will succeed Gerald Day, who resigned in January to accept a job with private industry.
