Vonda Gatherum Turner, a lovely lady, devoted and loving mother, and wife to Roy E. Turner for almost 72 years, died Sunday, July 15, 2001, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born August 22, 1912 in Provo, Utah to Robert and Sarah Hair Gatherum. Married Roy E. Turner December 24, 1929 in Provo. She was a member of the LDS Church.

Survived by husband; two sons, David "Roy" Turner (Gayle), Randy J. Turner, both of Salt Lake City; daughter-in-law Judi C. Turner of Northridge, CA, widow of son Lonnie S. Turner who died February 26, 1992; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Afton G. Casady of Salt Lake City; and brother, Lloyd H. Gatherum of Mesquite, Nevada. Preceded in death by sisters, Isabelle Whiting, Thelma Timpson, Glenda Greenwood, and brothers William and Robert.

Graveside services will be Thursday, July 19, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends and family may call one hour prior.
