RIVERTON — Riverton High School student Quintin Williams emerged from a field of 10,000 applicants to receive a $25,000 Tribute Award scholarship from Discover Financial Services.
Williams and eight other national winners were recently awarded the scholarships at the company's headquarters in Riverwoods, Ill. The scholarship program, also sponsored by the American Association of School Administrators, honors high school juniors who exhibit excellence in many areas of their lives, not just academics.
In Williams' case, his ability to overcome and go beyond the limitations of total blindness helped him win the award.
