June 30, 2001 Glen Voland died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. Glen Voland was born to Bertha Viola Dories and Emil H. Voland on October 25, 1917. He was in the Marine Corps during World War II. He worked at the Federated Metal smelter in Beckemeyer, IL. until it closed. He married Lydia Haumesser June 22, 1956. Lydia passed away Dec. 9, 1976. Glen married Marge Waterbury Sept. 1, 1980. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2001.
He lived most of his life in Beckemeyer. Due to failing health he chose to move to Tooele, Utah with Marge's daughter and family.
He missed his friends and family back in Illinois but was surprised to make new friends so fast. He quickly adjusted to the chaos of a large family and loved it. Marge and Glen belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were active in building up the Centralia Ward of the church. Glen served a mission for a year at the Washington DC Temple. At the time of his passing he was a High Priest in the Tooele Stake, Skyline Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Glen had two step-daughters of Lydia's: Emma Niemeyer of Breeze and June Gonzalez of Beckemeyer.
He had three step children of Marge's: John Waterbury of Bountiful, Utah, Lynn Hardy of Tooele, Utah and Richard Waterbury of Winnona, Minnesota. Glen had 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 5, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Tooele Skyline Ward 1100 Skyline Drive where friends may call one hr prior. Interment in the Tooele City Cemetery.
