Charles R. King's spirit began a new work on July 3, 2001. His mortal body died peacefully at his home in Fruit Heights, UT after a long battle with cancer. Charlie is survived by his loving and caring wife of 40 years, Pat King.
He is also survived by his parents, Ruby King and Ralph M. King and his mother-in-law, Margaret Ragsdale. Those who called him Dad were: Grant and Cheryl King, David and Renee King and Jared and Leslie Wittwer. His eight grandchildren called him Papa Charlie: Lauren King, Michaeline King, Patrick King, Conner King, Robert King, Jacob Wittwer, Matthew Wittwer and Lydia Wittwer.
He is also survived by his Yorkshire Terrier, Duffy. Charlie is also survived by hundreds upon hundreds of people whose lives he touched during his lifetime.
Charlie was born January 5, 1936 in Montpelier, Idaho, and he graduated from BYU in 1960 with a Bachelors degree in Political Science. He served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Canada from 1956 to 1958. He then joined the Air Force and attained the rank of Captain during the Vietnam War. He then served as a Special Agent for the FBI for 20 years before retiring and working as a Private Investigator.
Charlie enjoyed fishing and photography. He was a highly gifted model airplane builder and he loved trains. His favorite spot on earth was Kee Beach on the island of Kauai. Charlie loved people, especially children. Charlie also loved animals. He will be sorely missed by several dogs in his neighborhood who regularly received treats from him. All of his life, he was very active in scouting, attaining the Silver Beaver award posthumously at his graveside ceremony.
He will be missed by the scouts he worked with in this community. A reception is being held in his honor at 7 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2001 at Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. The
funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001 at the mortuary.
The graveside service will be held at the Farmington City Cemetery immediately following the funeral where he will be receiving the Silver Beaver Award and where he will be honored for his Veteran status with a 21 gun salute.

always a high priority.
