Morris D. Jenkins, age 68, of Lapoint, passed away August 11, 2001 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City.
He was born June 17, 1933 in Vernal, UT a son of David Clifton and Lucy Ellen Johnson Jenkins.
Morris was self employed working in the Oil fields. He served in the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Loftberg, and received an honorable discharge. Morris was respected and admired by all who knew him. He enjoyed Texas, his grandkids, his little dog, as well as being an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He was a very loving, kind and generous man. He always looked after his kids.
He is survived by his children, Cindy (Kent) Downward, West Valley, Tammy (Speed) Gray, Cedarview, Carrie Fausett, Salt Lake City, Dale (Tracy) Jenkins, Vernal; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, all of whom loved him very much and will miss him dearly; brothers, Clifton Wayne Jenkins, Morgan, LaVon Edwards, Cresant; and sisters, Carol Ann Butterfield, Midvale, Louise Nelson, Clearfield.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Carol Ann for her love and support during his final days.

d. Aug 15, 2001, 11 a.m. in the Lapoint LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. at Hullinger Mortuary, Roosevelt and Wed. at the Lapoint Chapel, one hour prior to the services. Burial, Vernal Memorial Park with military honors provided by the American Legion. Directors, Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
