SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) — A teenage boy will be tried as an adult on charges he lured a 16-year-old acquaintance to a home where he was beaten to death with a bat before the body was dumped in nearby woods.

Frank Tritschler, 15, was charged with second-degree murder and faces a possible life sentence, prosecutors said Wednesday. A 14-year-old facing similar charges is cooperating with prosecutors and will be tried as a juvenile. He faces seven years in a juvenile facility.

Tritschler and the 14-year-old lured Frank McCool to the home of Dominic Culpepper, who was waiting with a baseball bat, investigators said. Culpepper, 14, thought McCool broke into the home a week earlier and stole a half-pound of marijuana and several hundred dollars.
