Born January 25, 1926 in Preston, Idaho to Herschel Morgan and Ethel Erickson Neeley.
Passed away on September 12, 2001 at the age of 75 in his home in Price, Utah, after a cour-ageous battle with cancer.
Graduated from Cedar City High School in 1944 and went im-mediately into
the Navy, serving in World War II from 1944 to 1947. Married LaVerne Walton; later divorced. Married Colleen Perkins, April 8, 1949.
Marriage solemnized in the Manti Temple September 20, 1955. Don managed Neeley's Grocery Store in Beaver, Utah from 1949 to 1955. He then started with Safeway in Mt. Pleasant and transferred to Price in 1955 and was the manager in Price for 27 years. He worked for Safeway for 32 years. He was on the Community Beau-tification Committee, Shade Tree Commission, serving many years, and was honored as Businessman of the Year in 1981. He was a member of the Price Lions Club for nearly 50 years. He was President from 1976-77 and 1993-94. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as President of the Elders Quorum and a member of the Bishopric, High Council, High Priest Group Leader and Sunday School President. He loved sports and played softball, basketball, golf and bowling. He was an avid Jazz and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Don is survived by his wife Colleen of Price; daughters, Terri (Foster) Lott, Price; Ginny (Reece) Bawden, Mesa, Arizona; Kaye (Douglas) Rasmussen Price; son, Bruce (Peggy) Neeley, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; 21 grandchildren; ten great-grand-children; and two sisters, Shirley Cowan and Pat Rollo, Cedar City. Preceded in death by parents and brothers-in law, Dayle Perkins, Max Cowan, Klein Rollo.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 17, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Price Eighth ward chapel. Viewing will be Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett's Mortuary, and one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will be in the Price City Cemetery.
