Margaret Etta Petersen Pehrson, age 86, passed away Monday, January 28, 2002 at UVRMC in Provo, Utah surrounded by her family.
She was born March 28, 1915 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to George A. and Etta A. Rolph Petersen.
She married George Alvin Pehrson June 16, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. George died December 4, 1971.
Margaret was a member of the LDS Church, serving in many organizations of the church. She attended schools in Mount Pleasant and graduated from BYU with a major in drama and a minor in English. She was a great educator, teaching English and also served as the School Librarian at Springville High School. She loved sports, especially football and golf. She has traveled extensively throughout the world.
Margaret is survived by her children: Lloyd George (Arlene) Pehrson of Mapleton, UT and President John K. (Kristi) Pehrson of West Des Moines, IO; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Ray (Martha) Petersen of Sun City, AZ and a brother-in-law, Robert Whitaker of East Winache, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Florence Whitaker and grandson, Steven Pehrson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 South, Springville, where there will be a viewing from 9:30-11 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Canterbury Place and Hospice for the loving care they gave their mother.
