J. Richard "Pete" Glade, son of Earl J. Glade and Sarah Rasband. Born December 23, 1917 in Salt Lake City, UT. Passed away October 7, 2002 in Valencia, CA. He enjoyed life in his active "go-go-go" way, including riding his bike, until his brief hospitalization.
After graduating from the University of Utah and Harvard Law School, he served as an Army Captain in World War II. He saw action in France, Belgium and Germany, and was awarded the Bronze Star. Returning home, he attended Stanford Law School and received a Masters of Law degree in 1947. He and his wife Marilynn moved to Sacramento where he practiced law and they raised a family. In 1975 they moved to Los Angeles where he practiced labor law, negotiating contracts in the agribusiness industry. In 1985 they returned to Sacramento when Governor
Deukmajian appointed him to the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board. He retired in 1991 and moved to Sonoma County near his grandchildren, then back to Southern California near his daughter.
He is survived by his wife, Marilynn; daughters, Lynne Tabler and Sarah Glade Gurney; and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ted Gurney. He will be greatly missed.
