Our beloved brother and uncle, Edgar Allen Shippee, 87 years old, passed away Wednesday, Oct-ober 16, 2002 in Ogden, Utah af-ter an extended illness.

Allen was born at the Spanish Fork Power Plant May 2, 1915 to Wilbur P. and Clara Swenson Shippee.

Educated in Spanish Fork, he graduated in 1933 and went on to attend BYU and USU in Logan where he received his degree in wildlife management. He served in the United States Air Force in World War II and, upon returning from the war, he finished his education and went on to have a 30 year career with the Bureau of Reclamation and the Forest Service, living at the Dugway Proving Grounds, Panguitch, Duchesne and Vernal, Utah. Allen retired from the Forest Service in 1978 and returned to reside in Spanish Fork.

Allen was an active member of the LDS Church and also served in the American Legion and was an active volunteer with the Senior Citizens. During the past six years, Allen has been in assisted living at the Apple Tree in Kaysville and The Manor Care in South Ogden.

Survived by his sister, Dorothy Argyle (Jay), Uintah; two nieces, Karen Christensen (Roger), Kaysville, Ann Argyle, Kaysville; and one nephew, Val Argyle (Julie), Layton. Preceded in death by father, mother, one sister, Betty Jean, and one brother, Ross.

Services will be Mon. Oct 21, 2002, 11 a.m. at Walker Family Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork. Friends may call at the mortuary 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery with military honors by the Spanish Fork American Legion.

The family would like to thank the Manor Care and the nurses who attended to Allen for their friendship and excellent care during his stay there.
