OGDEN — Just after he was fined $500 for violations of his sexually oriented business license, Allstars escort service owner Glenn Smith was arrested in open court and taken to jail on a warrant alleging he had sex with an underage employee.

Smith, 44, was arraigned Thursday in 2nd District Court on a first-degree felony rape charge and held without bail.

Smith is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old runaway between 10 and 15 times during the second week in June. He had hired the girl as an escort.

Charging documents said the girl "felt she had to have sexual intercourse with Glenn to stay in his good graces and to get more escort calls so that she could make money."

The girl told police she had lived with Smith at his residence, a hangar at the Ogden-Hinckley Airport. The girl said that when she moved out of his place, he continued to ask her for sex and when she turned him down, she stopped getting escort calls.

Police had been looking for Smith since mid-August regarding the rape investigation. Smith, a pilot, apparently flew to an airplane repair business that he owns in Los Angeles.

But Wednesday, officers waited with the rape arrest warrant as Smith appeared before 2nd District Judge Ernie Jones to plead guilty to five violations of Ogden's sexually oriented business licensing ordinance.

Smith was charged in early August with 13 misdemeanor licensing violations, which police said was the fruit of an investigation of Allstars stemming from allegations that the service was a front for prostitution.
