Timothy James Johnston, age 45, passed away suddenly on October 27, 2002.
Tim was born December 28, 1956 in Barstow, CA to James Morgan and Mary Patricia Johnston. He married Rebecca Joy Gledhill December 18, 1987 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Tim attended school in Carlsbad, CA and served an LDS mission to Chile. He received his teaching degree from BYU and afterward began his love and lifelong career in education. Tim later earned his Masters degree in education from BYU and was working on his doctorate degree. Tim taught at Brookside Elementary in Springville and later at Payson High School. Tim had been the principal at Barnett Elementary in Payson since 1998. Tim loved the students of Nebo School District. He will be deeply missed by the many children who loved "Mr. J."
Tim was a devoted family man who loved his wife and children. He was an active member of the LDS church and served in a variety of callings. He served faithfully each week at the Provo LDS Temple.
Tim is survived by his wife Rebecca; stepsons, Kasey and Korey Woolsey; son, Makay; daughter, Mckenzie; parents, James and Mary Patricia Johnston; sisters, Kathy and Mary and brother Daniel.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. in Springville. Funeral services will be held on Wed., October 30, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Hobble Creek Stake Center located at 450 South Canyon Dr., in Springville with a viewing one-hour prior. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
