Thomas Addison "Add" Bennion, 84, died peacefully November 10, 2002, at the LDS Hospital after six years with leukemia and one week of pneumonia. Marilyn, his wife, was at his side.
He was born September 28, 1918 to Samuel Thomas and Lorilla Horne Bennion in Taylorsville, Utah. He attended the University of Utah and met Norma Young whom he married and they had four children. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Pacific Theatre during part of World War II. He returned to work in the oil and gas business then started the Bennion Insurance Agency which served many people.
He was divorced and married Marilyn Peterson Grant. They had 28 years of a happy and joyful life. They served together as LDS missionaries in Park Stake. He was made a Seventy and served proselytizing. He was a very active man and enjoyed many years of tennis which he has missed since this illness. They enjoyed many years with family and friends at their Heber home where he kept an antique fire engine which many enjoyed.
He is survived by his children, Catherine Whitesides, John Bennion, Marianne Brooks, and Jeanette Bennion and grandchildren, Rob Haight, LeeAnn Moore, Matt Goodsell, John Bennion, Jr., and Cassondra Morrison. Add was grandpa to Marilyn's children, Susan Oostyen, Richard Grant, Madilyn Howard and David Grant. Also survived by brothers, Samuel and Jerald Bennion. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Allen, Fem, Bill; and sister, Margaret.

Funeral services on Thursday, November 14, 2002, at 12 noon, at the Monument Park 2nd Ward, 1005 South 2000 East. Viewing on Wednesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 South, and also at the Ward on Thursday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
