The Walton Group Inc. has hired Daniel Davis as an associate. Davis is a graduate of Brigham Young University and Ricks College. At The Walton Group, his responsibilities will include client relations, research, event and project coordination, project analysis, new business development and media relations. The Walton Group is a Provo-based advertising and public relations agency.
John M. Holt has joined Celtic Bank as vice president of commercial lending. He will be involved in small-business lending, SBA lending, commercial lending and commercial account development. Holt is a graduate of the University of Utah.
Utah-based ATA Services has named Troy Schiffman as Midwest territory sales manager. Schiffman is a graduate of Weber State University.
Kathleen Koprowski has joined Fairbanks Capital Corp. as vice president of process management. Koprowski will be responsible for advancing Fairbanks' corporate quality initiatives and process management. She received a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Utah. She is also a graduate of the College of William and Mary.
SportsWest Productions announced two staff additions. Lynne Heygster has been hired as an executive assistant. She will handle all the daily administrative, organizational and professional responsibilities as well as some accounting duties. Bryan Seeley was hired as marketing and sales assistant. He will support SportsWest's marketing and public relations effort with clients and member universities.
Bank of Utah announced two staff additions. Kathy Robles was promoted to assistant vice president of mortgage operations. Robles has more than 19 years of experience in mortgage lending. She has been with Bank of Utah for six years. Christina Back has joined Bank of Utah as a mortgage loan originator in the bank's Sandy branch. Back has more than 10 years of mortgage lending experience.
Renee Froerer has been appointed to the design team at Ogden-based Design Solutions Marketing & Communications. Froerer is a graphic design major in her senior year at Utah State University. She has experience as a freelance graphic designer and has commissioned numerous paintings.
Wells Fargo announced two staff changes. Brian Reardon has been named manager of Wells Fargo's Eden branch. Reardon joined the bank in 1999. He is a graduate of the University of Phoenix. Janna Davis was named sales manager for Wells Fargo's Ogden Five Points branch. Davis has more than four years' experience in the financial services industry. She is a graduate of Weber State University and has completed several American Institute of Banking courses.
Sam Scruggs was appointed corporate general counsel at the Huntsman Cos. Scruggs joined Huntsman in 1995, most recently serving as executive vice president in the legal, tax and corporate development division. The combined Huntsman companies constitute the world's largest privately held chemical company.
Montgomery Watson Harza announced the addition of two professional engineers to its Salt Lake City Municipal group. Todd Johnson is a professional engineer who transferred from MWH's Tampa, Fla., office. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. Frank Rueckert has more than 35 years of design experience. He is a graduate of the University of Utah. MWH is a consulting, engineering and construction firm.
Novell Inc. announced two company changes. Fred Corrado, a former vice chairman of the board and chief financial officer of The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. Inc., has joined its board of directors. Corrado joined A&P in 1987, and became vice chairman in 1992. He is Novell's seventh board member. Mark Hardardt was appointed vice president for sales and channel development. His responsibilities will include developing and executing Novell's global sales strategy.
NPS Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Salt Lake-based biopharmaceutical company, announced that Stephen R. Parrish was appointed vice president of manufacturing. He is a graduate of the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. He is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Chris Sontag has been appointed senior vice president of the operating systems division at The SCO Group, a provider of Linux and UNIX software products. Sontag will be responsible for directing the division's marketing and strategy, guiding corporate marketing and overseeing the development of SCO's intellectual property. He has more than 18 years of technology management and marketing experience.
Jason Thompson was named manager of America First Credit Union's new branch in Marriott-Slaterville. Thompson began his career with credit unions in 1990, when he served as a teller. Most recently, he was service center manager of the North Davis America First branch.
Dr. Chris Crnich has been appointed director of the Utah Division of Regulatory Services. The division is responsible for consumer-oriented programs such as food compliance; meat, egg and poultry compliance; and labeling and product compliance. Crnich received his general veterinary medicine and surgery degree from Colorado State University.
