8/16/27 ~ 12/14/02

Our wonderful Mother, Agnes "Kit" Myers, age 75, passed away in Provo, Utah, peacefully December 14, 2002, from complications of a heart attack.

Kit was born August 16, 1927, in Beachton, Georgia, to Hubert Otis and Ollie Green Walker. She grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, attended Brigham Young University, and married Thomas Gay Myers in the Salt Lake Temple, June 12, 1946.

She was blessed with great musical abilities at an early age and shared that talent throughout her life, accompanying church choirs and meetings, school bands and glee clubs, USO gatherings and most anything she was called upon to do. In 1955 she was runner-up to "Mrs. Nevada". She served on the Board of Directors for "California Utah Women", and is best remembered as an outstanding organist in Church and later in the Temples for over 55 years.

Kit's greatest service, however was to her family as she and her husband guided their nine children through music lessons, performances, church and school activities, scouting, and most importantly, giving them the foundation to live responsible, honorable lives.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Gay Myers; her brother Callis (Marian) Walker, Cairo, GA; her sisters, Ellen (Carl) Christensen, Las Vegas, NV; Ponda Anderson, Gilbert, AZ; her nine children, Diane (Mark) Webb, Alpine; Thomas (Marilou) Myers, Gwen (Mike) Smith, Kenneth (Jane) Myers, Ron (Brenda) Myers, Jane Ann (Bob) Hamblin, Linda (James) Jensen, all of Provo; Richard (Susie) Myers, Spokane, WA; and Robert (Laurel) Myers, Hayden, ID; 58 grandchildren and 35 great-grand-children.

Funeral services, under the direction of Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Orem, will be held Friday, December 20, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in the Edgemont 13th Ward Chapel, 4000 N. Foothill Drive, Provo. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, Provo, Utah.
