Afton Bringhurst Smith, 85, passed away December 29, 2002.
She was born April 4, 1917 in Springville, UT to William and Bella Bird Bringhurst. She married Paul Andrew Smith on January 31, 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband and son Melvin Dean Smith both of Beaver, Utah.
Afton graduated from BYU in Elementary Education in 1939 and moved to Beaver as an elementary school teacher.
Afton was survived by her children, Sherrie Lee (Kenneth H.) Gray of Midland, Texas; Susan (Richard) Limb of Minersville, Utah; Michael Paul (Oralin) Smith of Beaver, Utah; LuAnn (Gordon) Cluff of Beaver, Utah; 20 grandchildren, and 24 great-grand-children.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 2nd, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Beaver 2nd Ward Chapel (100 West Center Street.) Family and friends may visit at the Beaver 2nd Ward Church on Wednesday, January 1st from 6:00 to8:00 p.m., and January 2nd from 9:30-10:30 a.m. both at the Church.
