- Nelma Louise Foote Kafton passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, after a long and valiant struggle with illness.

She was born October 24, 1934 to James Lanell Foote and Martha

Bernice Packer. Nelma made Henry C. Kafton, Jr. a very blessed person when she married him in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 29, 1953.

Nelma was a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

During her life she served faithfully in all of the organizations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that she could. This service included Relief Society President, eight and a half years as a stake missionary and a teacher. Her life served as an inspiration to many friends and acquaintances.

Nelma left a wonderful legacy in her four children: Louise (Conrad) Roskelley, Marie (Joel) Shepherd, David (Sheila) Kafton, and Michael (Deanna) Kafton; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 25, at 1 p.m. in the Central Ward Chapel, 506 South 200 East, Brigham City. Friends may call on Sunday, February 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, also on Monday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. at the Central Ward Building. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
