Salt Lake-based LifeSmart Nutrition Technologies Inc. on Friday said that it has acquired LifeSmart Nutrition Inc., also of Utah, as a wholly owned subsidiary.
LifeSmart Nutrition Technologies formerly was known as Upland Energy Corp. The company's stock symbol has changed from UPLC to LSNU.
Under terms of the acquisition, the shareholders of LifeSmart Nutrition are receiving about 7.9 million post-split shares of LifeSmart Nutrition Technologies' common stock. That represents more than 64 percent of the then-issued and outstanding shares of LifeSmart Nutrition Technologies.
LifeSmart Nutrition was formed as a Utah corporation in 1997. The company's products utilize a unique candy-like soft chewable delivery system. The products are marketed under the LifeSmart Nutrition label as well as under private label arrangements.
