The Salt Lake law firm of Workman, Nydegger & Seeley has added four new associates. Trent Baker joined the firm after receiving his juris doctor degree from the University of Arizona. His practice will focus on preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Ryan Benson, who received his degree from Harvard Law School, also works in the areas of patent application preparation and prosecution. Sara Jones, a Brigham Young University graduate, also will deal with patents. Tige Keller, also a BYU graduate and former executive director of economic development in Franklin County, Idaho, will focus his practice on intellectual property litigation.

Wells Fargo has announced four staff changes in Utah. Brenda Mallet has been named premier banker for the South Salt Lake City area. Mallet, who joined First Security in 1979, will provide one-on-one attention to customers who have more complex financial needs. Guillermo Zelaya has been named a business banking officer for the Park City area. Zelaya, a BYU graduate, joined Wells Fargo in September 2001. Justin J. Butterfield, a Utah State University graduate who joined Wells Fargo in November 2001, has been named a business development officer. Brady Mather, another USU graduate who joined Wells Fargo in December 2001, also has been named a business development officer.

Jeff Oyler recently was named as partner for Layton-based Baer Canyon Development, which is involved in several projects along the Wasatch Front and in Seattle. As partner, Oyler is managing all new commercial and residential development projects for Baer Canyon in the Intermountain West.

Gary Whittle has joined Salt Lake-based G.B. Chamberlain Sales & Advertising as studio design and presentation affiliate. Whittle, who has experience dating back to 1977, will be responsible for preparation and manufacture of all print materials.

Cornerstone Counseling Center in Salt Lake City has made two appointments to its clinical staff. Robyn Halsey, a University of Utah graduate, will be a full-time adolescent therapist. Beth Rumpel, a graduate of the University of Idaho, will be a full-time child and adolescent therapist. Cornerstone Counseling is a nonprofit agency that provides mental health treatment and prevention services.

Keith D. Tintle has been appointed as chief executive officer of the Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem by the hospital's board of trustees and HCA. Tintle replaces Kenneth H. Armstrong, who served as the hospital's first CEO and has accepted a promotion with HCA to Las Vegas. Tintle, who has degrees from both BYU and the U., has worked in California, Oregon and Utah. Most recently, he was the president and CEO of Pioneer Valley Hospital in West Valley City.

Jeff Grant has joined the Salt Lake office of LONG Building Environments, a Denver-based HVAC equipment distribution company. Grant, a Penn State University graduate, joins LONG as a sales engineer in the equipment sales group.

Linden C. Johnston has joined the Utah design and engineering firm of Spectrum+Bennion as a principal technology engineer. Johnston is a registered professional engineer in mechanical engineering with a specialty in the engineering of building management systems.

Salt Lake-based Verticore Technologies Inc. has named Matt Mosman to its board of directors. Mosman is a managing partner of Wasatch Venture Fund and former senior vice president of corporate development at Oracle Corp. Verticore is an enterprise software company.

Royce Ramsay has been named vice president of operations for Kern River and Northwest Pipeline for the Williams natural gas company. Ramsay has been director of operations for Williams' Lafayette Division in Lafayette, La., for the past five years. He fills a vacancy that was created when Bob Sluder was selected to lead Williams' operations in the West.

Salt Lake-based Worldwide Financial Holdings Inc. has appointed Ronald S. Hartley as president and chairman of the board. The company also has appointed Mike Clark to serve as secretary treasurer. Hartley has owned his own business and has worked in the public sector in the area of financial public relations and business organization. Clark is president of Rebel Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Worldwide Financial Holdings.

Gentner Communications, a division of Salt Lake-based ClearOne Communications Inc., has named Jan Wintersberg as managing director of international operations. Wintersberg will manage and work to expand distribution channels for all Gentner products outside of the United States and Canada.
