He was born January 26, 1925, in Upalco, UT, to Hugo and Martha Marett Mitchell. He married Rose Pilch Sep. 13, 1945, in Manilla, UT.
Survived by his wife, Rose, Duchesne; daughters, Carolyn (Ken) Fortner, Sandy; LaNae (James) Eaton, West Jordan; sons, Michael (Barbara) Mitchell, South Jordan; John (Christy) Mitchell, Evanston, WY; Marcus Mitchell, Draper; LaMar (Kathy) Mitchell, Sandy; Duane (Brenda) Mitchell, Sandy; Donald (Ronnie) Elko, NV; 31 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lela Galloway, WY; Beth (Gordon) Evans, West Valley; Wanda (Keith) Bastian, Neola; Ione (Bill) Baggs, Ogden; Nona Allred, West Jordan; Lorna (Evard) Squires, Mona; Victor Mitchell, WA; Benjamin Mitchell, Duchesne; and Jack (Linda) Mitchell, West Valley. Preceded in death by parents, sister, Ila Holt; brothers, Willis and Loal; sisters-in-law, Irene and Eldora; brother-in-law, Stuart; and daughter-in-law DeAnna.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2002, at the Hullinger Mortuary, 457 East 300 North, Roosevelt, UT. Friends and family may call at the mortuary Saturday 10-10:45 a.m. Burial in the Altamont Cemetery.
