CENTER VALLEY, Utah- Scott Claude Hawley, 88, of Central Valley, Utah, passed away, Feb. 26, 2002, at his sons home in Richfield.

He was born February 16, 1914, in Central, Utah, to Claude William and Etta Elizabeth Christensen Hawley. He married Beatrice Nielsen, May 29, 1935, in the Manti LDS Temple. She preceded him in death Oct. 2, 1998.

Scott was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as a Bishop, High Councilor, High Priest Group Leader, Stake Mission President, and served a LDS mission to St. George with his wife. Scott was a farmer, Rancher, and dairyman. He was also active in Farm Bureau and was the Sevier County Zoning Administrator.

He is survived by his children, Claudette (Carlyle) Brown, Central Valley; Dr. Jerald S. (Marilyn) Hawley, Richfield; Dr. Don B. (Portia) Hawley, Orem; son-in-law, Dr. Robert A. Anderson Jr., Las Vegas, NV; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grand children; brother, Harold (Kenna) Hawley, Richfield; sister, Norma (Willard) Rogers, Central Valley.

Preceded in death by parents; wife, Beatrice; daughter, Gayle Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer Rainey and Conner Edward Hawley; and sister, Mae Beth Ogden.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2002, at 1p.m. in the Central LDS Ward Chapel in Annabella. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and at the Central ward chapel in Annabella on Saturday from 11a.m.-12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
