Dr. Kaye Funk passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2002 in Salt Lake City.

She was born October 12, 1924 in Logan, Utah to LeRoy Conrad and Grace Viola Williams Funk. She spent her childhood in Rexburg, Idaho, Duchesne, Utah, and Richmond, Utah. She graduated from North Cache High School in Richmond. and received a B.S. degree from Utah State University in 1946. She completed a Dietetic internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon in 1947. She received an M.S. Degree from the University of Washington, and a Ph.D. in Foods/Management from Michigan State University in 1966. She was employed as a hospital dietician at the University of California at Berkeley, in Pocatello, Idaho, and at Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She served as an assistant professor at Michigan State University and at Utah State University, and as an associate professor of Foods at Washington State University. She retired in 1988. Her interests included Utah history, crafts, quilting, and weaving. She will also be remembered for her cooking and baking, especially her legendary cinnamon rolls. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by a brother, Calvin W. (Carol) Funk, Richmond, Utah, and a sister, Leah Grace (Charles Durrell) Hendricks, Livermore, CA, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gene Funk (H. Randall) Hillyard, Ogden, UT.
