WEST POINT, UT<! > -Our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Loy Frank Blake, 91, passed away from this life to be reunited with his eternal sweet-heart on March 9, 2002.

Loy was born the youngest of three children on June 27, 1910 to Charlotte King and Walter Frank Blake in West Point, Utah. He married Erma Maude Holt on August 22, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised five children; Van Holt Blake (Shanna), Leon Holt Blake (Suzanne), Lynn Holt Blake (Sharon), Susan Blake Carter (Gordon), and Milan Scott Blake (Christa). His 27 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren are grateful for his sterling example.

Although Loy had several occupations, he considered himself a farmer.

He loved the farmland and the people of West Point, Utah which he called "God's country." He also held positions with the Davis County and Utah State Roads Department, Hill Air Force Base and the Davis County School District. He was the first mayor of West Point and held that position for over 20 years. His favorite project while mayor was the development of West Point Park.

Loy was a valiant servant of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Bishop of the West Point Ward for 10 years, as well as a High Counselor, a Young Men's president and Building Committee Chairman. He and his wife completed two missions to the Oakland, California Temple Visitors Center. Loy made a new friend wherever he went. Driving through town, he had a honk and a wave for everyone. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family.

He had a special relationship with every child and grandchild, reminding each to "Remember who you are." We will greatly miss his smile, his wisdom, his warmth and generosity, but we will always feel his love.
