Princess Stephanie of Monaco apparently has ended her yearlong relationship with the director of the Swiss national circus, Swiss newspapers said.

"Stephanie goes home to Papa," the mass-circulation daily Blick said this week. The 37-year-old princess took her three children and two dogs with her, the newspaper said. In Lausanne, the daily Le Matin said a major reason for the split from Franco Knie was that the 47-year-old circus director and elephant trainer was still married to Claudine, his wife of 14 years. Another reason, it said, was that the princess never became accustomed to living in a circus trailer.
