Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home March 14, 2002.
Merle was born Sept 17, 1932 in Tremonton, UT to Gordon Hyrum and Susan Larene Scott. She graduated from South High School and attended Stevens-Henegar Business College for two years. She mar-ried Jack Homer Jan 26, 1952.
Merle worked several years at Hoffman Hardware store as a secretary and Mountain Bell Telephone Company. She loved her family and greatly enjoyed each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will never forget her sense of humor which brought laughter and joy to our lives. She loved springtime, beautiful flowers, camping with her family, and family gatherings.
Jack and Merle recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by their family. Merle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed her many associations with good friends and neighbors. They resided in Rose Park for 50 years.
She is now reunited with her parents who preceded her in death. Mom will be greatly missed by all of us. Merle is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Lee) Deming, Jackie Salerno; sisters, Thelma (Ferris) Dansie, Marjorie (John) Gislason; she has seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the many kind caregivers at Federal Heights Rehabilitation, and Hospice Services for their attentive and loving care.
Services will be Tues. March 19, 2002, 2 p.m., Wasatch Lawn Memorial Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Dr, Salt Lake City, UT. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
