Floyd Reddy Dorris passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 10, 2002 after a strong fight with brain cancer.

Floyd was born in Kansas City, Kansas on Nov. 16, 1934 the only child of Samuel Floyd and Katherine Reddy Dorris. Floyd grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and spent many child-hood summers in Napoleonville, Louisiana with his family. He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Missouri School of Mines. He also served in the Army ROTC. On July 22, 1969, he married Bonnie Linda Evans in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended the University of Utah and received a Masters of Engineering Administration degree. Floyd worked for Hercules Incorporated for 29 1/2 years as a scientific programmer. He retired from American Express in 1999 after six years.

After retirement he spent most of his time traveling with his wife, family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time reading to and singing with his granddaughters. Floyd loved and enjoyed the great outdoors and was a long time member of Mountain Men of the Wasatch.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Bonnie; three children, Emily, Sally Sansom (Chris), David; two grandchildren, Megan and Madison Sansom, and many dear friends.

Funeral services Monday, April 15, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Sunday 6-7:30 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
