Dr. Oral (Chuck) Tippetts Dalton of Pleasant Grove, Utah, died peacefully at home surrounded by family Monday, April 1, 2002 of congestive heart failure.

Born April 24, 1930 in Salt Lake City to Hyrum Cloyd and Arbeth Dalton. He married Bonnie Lee Bate February 5, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was raised in Springville. He served a mission in the Northern States Mission. He attended the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, graduating with his D.D.S. degree from Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Chuck served as a dental officer with the United States Public Health Service, and later had his private practice in American Fork, Utah and a group practice in Taylorsville, Utah.

His life reflected a devotion to family, church, friends and he always stood for hard work and honesty. For years, Chuck golfed with his lifelong friends. He served faithfully in many church positions and attended the Temple regularly. He always lifted others with his quick wit.

He showed us how to lead a good life through his quiet and humble example. While he will be greatly missed by his family, the wonderful memories of him will continue with us.

He is survived by his wife of Pleasant Grove and their seven children: Jeff and Kristi Dalton of Highland; Jody and Doug Mower of Alpine; Jon and Lori Dalton of Ogden; Julie and John Boley of Alpine; James and Echo Dalton of Clarkston, WA; Jason and Melanie Dalton of Koosharem, Jeremy and Brook Dalton of Pleasant Grove; 27 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Arbeth Dalton, of Hurricane, his sister, Laura Beth Morganson of Payson, his sister-in-law, Mary Beth Dalton of Henderson, NV. Other survivors include his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Lee H. Bate, Gordon and Roberta Smith, Lee J. and Mary Bate, all of Springville. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother, Keith T. Dalton, brother-in-law, Wallace Morganson, and infant granddaughter, Natalie Dalton.

Funeral Services will be Friday, April 5, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden Stake Center, 1028 West 1000 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and at the Stake Center on Friday for one hour prior to the services. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Perpetual Education Fund.
