He enjoyed the gen-tleman's game of golf, Ute's bas-ketball, ice fish-ing, oldies music, his family, and reminiscing about old Bingham where he grew up.
Richard died, as he lived, with dignity. Born Feb 6, 1939 in Bingham, UT to Inokichi and Shigiko Shiba Kubota. Attended the University of Utah, served in the U.S. Air Force. Member of the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Church. He worked at Hercules for 35 years.
Loved by many, survived by wife, Janet Kubota, Fairview; sons, Kelly (Janae) Kubota, Fairview, John Kubota, Fairview; daughter, Sceverenia (Brandon) Mellor, Moroni; daughters-in-law, Staci (Kevin) Blaine, West Jordan, Cindie (Casey) Hillard, Fair-view; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Gary (Pat) Kubota, Murray, Jimmy Kubota, Lake Tahoe, Orlinda Kubota, West Valley, Kayleen Sunata, Tor-ence, CA, Linda Fugiki, Honolulu, HI; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews; and special friend, Ed Aguyo. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, George and Ben Kubota; sons, Clark and Tom Kubota.
Graveside services will be Wed. May 15, 2002, 1 p.m., Fairview City Cemetery, with military rites provided by VFW Post 9276, North Sanpete. A luncheon for friends and family will follow the services at the Kubota residence. Directors, Magleby-Furner Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant, UT.
