George William Young was born Feb, 27, 1920 in Union, Utah to William Penn and Berenice Dunster Young.

Died May 16, 2002 of cancer.

He graduated from Jordan High and enrolled at Henager Business College where he met his wife-to-be, Helen Cannegieter. They were married July 10, 1941, and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple August 7, 1942.

He is survived by his wife, sons Randall (Barbara), David (Jackie), and a daughter, Nancy Hyde (John). A son, Victor (Virginia), died in January 1968. He is also survived by sisters, Joy deJong, Trilva Webb, a brother Newell, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brother Lowell.

He joined the Navy in 1942 where he made the rank of Chief Yeoman. He graduated in accounting from the U of U, and was employed at Western Supply Co. for 40 years.

George was meticulous in his bookwork both at his office and at home, and kept beautiful records of his work and private affairs. He enjoyed working on his computer, gardening, and making cookies and candy. The neighbors will miss his delicious peanut brittle at Christmastime.

George had a sweet disposition, was a very sociable man, and loved to talk and make friends. He was a member of the L. K. Antelopers Branch of the Good Sam Club and enjoyed taking trips to Oregon and Arizona.

Friends may greet the family at 12 noon, and funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 20, at the Ridgedale Ward, 3400 So. 1100 East, Salt Lake City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

He has requested that his body be given to the U of U Medical School for research. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Rest in peace, my darling, until we are together again.
