Gladys Eyre Myers, 94, died May 25, 2002, at her home in Minersville of heart failure incident to age.
Gladys was born February 26, 1908, at Beaver, Utah, the daughter of George Hopkin Eyre and Emma Walker Eyre. She was the youngest of a family of eight sisters and one brother who lived to adulthood and two brothers who died at birth.
She married Obra Moroni Myers at Beaver, Utah, on November 2, 1925. Their Temple Sealing was completed November 1, 1955 in the St. George Temple. Obra and Gladys are the parents of five children.
Her husband, Obra, died March 31, 1967. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Obra Art Myers and Melvin M. Myers, and son-in-law, Rex M. Carter, and by two great grandsons, Jeremy Kent Carter and Brad McKay Myers. Also preceding her in death were her parents and her sisters, Althea, Idonna, Augusta, Clara, Alta, Hilda, and Lola and brothers, Golden, George and Frank.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Carter of Beaver; Sally Kae (Lee) Smith of Fallon, Nevada; son, Kent E. (Cherie) Myers of Cedar City and daughter-in-law, May Lou Warby Myers of Beaver, Utah . She leaves an additional posterity of 21 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2002, in Minersville LDS Chapel. Viewing at the chapel from 10:30 to 12:30 prior to the funeral. Burial in the Minersville Cemetery.
