Our loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend, Larry Montoya, age 64, passed away May 2, 2002 in Murray, Utah, surrounded by his family.
Born May 6, 1937 in Pueblo, Colorado, son of Ray and Mary Valdez Montoya. He married Viola Leyba on Nov. 7, 1956 in Elko, Nevada. As a young boy, Larry moved with his family to West Jordan where he farmed with his father, developing a great love for gardening. Larry worked as a journeyman concrete finisher for many years and had a great love for his work. He enjoyed the outdoors and going for walks in the park with his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Viola; children: Cindy Fritz, Vicki Waddill, Sheri (Trey) Eppley, Stephen (Rose) Montoya, Sonya (Tim) Fife; mother, Mary Montoya; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Eddie and Raymond; sisters, Rachel, Alice, Berda, Josie and Rosie. He was preceded in death by his father; son, little Larry Montoya; and brothers, Gilbert and Benny.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 12 noon, at McDougal West Jordan Mortuary, 1861 West 7800 South, where friends may call Sunday, 6 - 8 p.m. and again Monday, 11 - 11:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
