Donald Lee Jensen, 69, Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grand-father, returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on May 6, 2002 while at home with his wife.

He was born on June 11, 1932 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, the son of Garold Jesse Jensen and Atella Christiansen.

He graduated from East High School in 1949, where he played football and was unanimous choice for All-state. He married his high school sweetheart Gertrude Joy Knight on December 3, 1950 in Bountiful, Utah and was sealed for Time and All Eternity on February 4, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He attended the University of Utah, and graduated in 1956. While there, he played football under Jack Curtis as an offensive and defensive tackle. They took the conference championships three years in a row.

He taught and coached at North Davis Jr. High and later at Clearfield High School. He retired because of poor health.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a High Priest and served faithfully in numerous callings over the years.

He was a compassionate, caring and loving man, whose humor, storytelling and wisdom will be greatly missed.

He was the proud father of 12 children: Donald James Jensen (Cheryl), Sharon Jensen, David K. Jensen (Tammy), Daniel Jensen (Sharon) Clifford Jensen (Erin) Julia Christensen (Kreg), Russell Jensen (Linda), Susan Hartung (Scott) Jence Jensen, Matthew Jensen (Monica), Larry Jensen (Julie), Jennifer Toone (Jeff). He has 52 grandchildren and 12 great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother (Garold) and two grandsons.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Harmony Hospice for the loving care they gave Don through the years.

Funeral services will be held Sat., May 11, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the West Point 11th Ward Chapel, 4383 West 300 North. Family and friends may call at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, West Point Cemetery.
