Much is being said about the primary election fight between Rep. David Litvack and his challenger. Really, this is a simple election for Democratic voters in Litvack's district.

I met Litvack in his capacity as a state legislator; since then I have been in awe of the way that man works. Litvack is probably one of the hardest-working, most caring and dedicated legislators on Capitol Hill. He is a defender of minority rights — following in the footsteps of one of his predecessors, the much beloved late Sen. Pete Suazo. Litvack is a man who understands and takes on issues of those who otherwise will not have representation. He certainly knows his job as a representative of the people of his district, and, more than most in his position, respects and works hard for the trust given him by his neighbors.

Although I completely respectful of the democratic process, and the ability of any citizen to run for office, I feel that voters in Litvack's district would be smart to send back to the legislature a representative like Dave Litvack.
