NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — The son of jailed mob boss Nicodemo "Little Nicky" Scarfo was sentenced Friday to the maximum 33 months in prison for running an illegal gambling operation.

Nicodemo Scarfo Jr., 37, pleaded guilty in February after losing court battles to suppress gambling records the FBI had secretly seized from his computer.

U.S. District Judge Joel A. Pisano also fined Scarfo $9,407 and ordered him to remain under supervision for three years after his release, saying: "You have a disturbing propensity to associate with bad people." Federal prisoners are not eligible for parole.
