Wayne Bennion Smuin, age 42, passed away Sat., June 1, 2002 at his home.
He was born Jan. 22, 1960 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Harold E. Smuin and Lois Wright. He married Mary Bemis. They later divorced. He married Catherine (Catie) Saunders on October 1, 1996 in Logan, Utah.
He grew up in Kaysville, graduated from Davis High School and was currently living in Logan attending Utah State University. Wayne was a member of the LDS Church serving a mission to Florida Tallahassee. He worked in the Elders Quorum and Primary, was an Eagle Scout and a Scout Master. He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife of Logan; four sons, Scott, Jeffrey and Brandon Smuin, of Clearfield; Tanner Sears, Logan; two daughters, Meaghann and Morgann Sears, Logan; parents, Harold and Lois Smuin, Kaysville.
Wayne is a kind, loving, generous person who took care of everyone around him. He could always be counted on to lend a hand to anyone in need. Family was the most important thing to Wayne.
Also surviving are four brothers, Harold Smuin, Evanston; Paul (Teri) Smuin, West Jordan; Douglas (Suzanne) Smuin, Clearfield; David (Maria) Smuin, Wellsville; seven sisters, Jolynn (Keith) Potter, Kaysville; Ruth (Todd) Tyler, Kaysville; Carma Smuin, Appleton, Wisconsin; Elizabeth (John) Moody, Kaysville; Emma (David) Green, Pleasant Grove; Shauna (Kevin) Money, Layton and Susanne (Jeffrery) Walters, Kaysville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002 at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Family and friends will meet from 12 noon til 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
