Internap Network Services Corp., a Seattle-based Internet connectivity services company, announced Monday it will close its Lindon operations, laying off about 30 workers.
Bill Hankes, Internap spokesman, said the layoffs were part of a larger corporate consolidation.
"We're consolidating our software development and support efforts to our Seattle offices," Hankes said.
Workers, who were informed of the cutbacks on Friday, will receive a severance package including two month's salary, outplacement services and benefits, Hankes said.
Some layoffs were effective on Friday, with more to follow, he said.
"I don't know that we have a finish line (for completing the layoffs)," he said. "Obviously, the sooner the better, for everybody involved. But we want to make sure that to the extent possible, we do things right."
