LaRae Judd Murphy, age 76, died June 3, 2002 in Logan, Utah.

LaRae was born April 11, 1926 in Kanab, Utah to Clarence DeMont and Maida Rust Judd. After the death of her mother, she lived most of her youth with her grandfather in the Kanab area and at the age of 12 joined her father and step-mother, Elizabeth, and her three sisters and two brothers in Salt Lake City where she remained until she met her husband to be, Verl Amos Murphy. Verl and LaRae were married March 22, 1943 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Verl and LaRae had seven children, three foster children.

LaRae was a devoted member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities including 14 years as Primary President, Relief Society President, and teacher in many different classes and worked steadfastly in her later years in the genealogy extraction program.

LaRae is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Verl; two daughters, Jane (Steve) Casper, Mary Ellen Campbell, four sons, Verl Jr. (Noriko), Robert (Cindy), Benjamin (Ingrid), Mikel, three foster children, Johnny Tabbee (DeDe), Kevin Tabbee, and Raelyn Martinez. Also survived by her mother, Elizabeth Judd, two brothers, C. DeMont (Ramona) Judd and Gordon (Bonnie) Evans, 29 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice LaRae (Jimmy) Purser, father, C. DeMont Judd, three sisters, Janice (David) Orullian, Cleo (Al) Riggs, and Helen (Dean) Gull.

Funeral services will be Friday June 7, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
