PANGUITCH, UTAH - Mamie Norton Talbot, 79, of Panguitch, Utah, passed away, June 5, 2002, in Panguitch, Utah.
She was born July 7, 1922, in Panguitch, Utah, to Albert "Allie" and Agnes "Aggie" Miller Norton. She married Stanley Elias Talbot, October 3, 1940, in Panguitch, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple, June 18, 1941. He preceded her in death August 29, 1976.
Mamie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many church positions including Relief Society President and as a full time missionary. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and worked as a nurse's aide and newspaper columnist. Her faith was unshakeable. She loved children and loved to laugh. She taught the gospel by the way she lived her life.
She is survived by her children, Karen T. (Dennis) Williams, South Jordan; Barbara Talbot, Panguitch; S. Alan (Michelle) Talbot, Enoch; G. Lyle (Katheryn) Talbot, Sandy; Steven N. (Susan) Talbot, Escondido, CA; Richard K. (Marilyn) Talbot, Orem; 27 grandchildren; 15 great-grand-children; brother, McLaine (Dorothy) Norton, Brigham City; sisters-in-law, Dora Norton, Provo; Charlene Norton, West Bountiful.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Stanley; son, Boyd E Talbot; brothers: Emil A Norton, V Miller Norton, Leo Norton; two grandchildren, Zachary and Rebecca Talbot.
Funeral services will be held Sat., June 8, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. in the Panguitch 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 200 N. 400 E., where friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery.
