PARIS — France's new national soccer coach is Jacques Santini, who led club Lyon to its first league title last season.

"Even if it's a very important and lucky day for me, I know that . . . the hardest is yet to come," Santini said Friday on France-Info radio.

He's charged with rebuilding a team that didn't win a game and didn't score a goal at the World Cup. Roger Lemerre was fired as France's coach after the World Cup.
