Leonard Eric Hupp died on July 16, 2002, in Salt Lake City.

He was born

Dec. 15, 1934, in Salt Lake City to Paul H. Hupp and Tekla Holmquist Hupp. He married Aristea Gatsos. Later divorced.

Ge attended Hawthorne Elementary, Irving Jr. High, and South High School, where he was a gymnast and cheerleader. He attended college at the University of Utah, University of Mexico in Mexico City and University of Cal. Poly in San Luis, Obispo, Calif.

He was a AAU champion diver and boxer. He was a Sgt. In the U.S. Marines serving in Korea and Japan. He was an avid golfer, golfing at the Glendale Golf Course. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus for children at Christmas Time. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Survived by children, Paul Howard Hupp and Leslie Irene Hupp Ryder, Alamo, CA; two grandchildren, Savannah, age eight, and Sierra, age five. Brother James H. Hupp, Salt Lake City; sister, Carol H. Eckardt, Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by father, mother, and brother, Clifford P. Hupp.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City. Funeral Directors: Deseret Memorial Mortuary.
