LEEDS, Washington County — A pregnant woman was killed and several other passengers critically injured in a one-car crash on I-15 Thursday.

Killed was: Gina Powers, 34, San Clemente, Calif.

She died soon after being transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Powers' husband, Stephen Powers, 35, apparently fell asleep while driving southbound on I-15 around 5:30 a.m. and overcorrected after his vehicle drifted off the road, UHP Sgt. Jim Lloyd said.

Josh Powers, 13, and Stephen Powers Jr., 7, were flown to a Las Vegas hospital where they are listed in critical condition in the pediatric intensive-care unit with head injuries.
