LAYTON <! > - Owen Alvin Walker 58, passed away at his home on July 1, 2002.
He was born in Ogden, Utah to Glen Thurston and Doris S. Walker who lived in McKinnon, WY. and later moved to Vernal, Utah. Owen attended Central Jr. High and Uintah High School, graduating in 1962. He loved sports, being in plays, singing, dancing and riding his horse "Lacy" and later "Ol Socks". He attended a Heavy Equipment school in Colorado before serving a mission to the Northeast British Mission for the LDS church. He also attended Weber State. He married Sylvia Machell, who came from Sheffield England, on December 6, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple. Owen loved to go fishing, biking, and camping especially with the family near Trial Lake and going to Antelope Island with his grandchildren. He was employed at The Bike Rack in Kaysville. He has been very devoted to his wife Sylvia and his in-laws, Ernest and Lily Machell, and caring for their needs for many years.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia; children, Melanie (Dan) Smith of Syracuse; Aden (Jamie) Walker of West Point; Tahnee (Brett) Player of Roy; Tenette (Chad) Connell of Clinton and six grandchildren. Brothers, Norlan Walker and David Walker and sister, Glenna Collier. Both Owen and Sylvia's parents have preceded him in passing.
Graveside services will be held Monday, July 8, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
Friends and Family may call Monday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
