Margery Peterson Parker Bergen, age 78, died peacefully on August 12, 2002 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA after a long illness.
Margery was born in 1924 in San Pedro, CA to Luella Hansen and C. Leo Peterson. Soon after her birth, her family returned to their home in Salt Lake City, Utah where she remained until she married Robert E. Parker in 1944. Marge and Bob relocated to the suburbs of Chicago, IL where they lived until 1968 when Bob was transferred to Wilmington, DE. In 1976 Bob died after a short illness; Marge was married for a second time in 1984 to Robert Bergen. In 1991, Marge and Robert retired to Salt Lake City where a part of Marge's heart had always remained. Sadly, Robert died in 1997. Marge returned to the East Coast in 2000 and lived with her daughter Stephanie, son-in-law Glenn Fleming and granddaughters Katie and Megan Fleming of Holland, PA until her death. Marge is also survived by a daughter, Kathryn and her husband Robert Hoch of Elk Grove Village, IL; a son Christopher Parker and his wife Grace of Middletown, DE; a daughter, Lee and her husband Roger Nickle of Seaford, DE; grandchildren Stephen, Tom, Christian and Karin Hoch; Catherine, Laura, and Christopher Parker; Kirstin and Matthew Nickle; brothers Robert, Richard, Garth, Donald and Gary of Salt Lake City, UT and two great-grandchildren; step-children Robert Bergen and his wife Roxanne of Wilmington, DE; Eilene Maier and her husband Joseph of Hockessin, DE; James Bergen of Wilmington, DE; step-grandchildren Tonya and Joe Maier of Wilmington, DE; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved and will miss her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 820 Almshouse Road, lvyland, PA. Marge's final resting place will be over the Utah mountains she so loved. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the above named church.
