LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON — Searchers Thursday located the body of a man missing for three days from his Midvale home.
The body of David Bailey, 30, was spotted about 2 p.m. as search crews combed the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Shane Hudson said.
The body was located at the bottom of a 125-foot outcropping, although investigators were not able to determine if Bailey fell to his death, Hudson said.
The body had been there for two or three days, Hudson said, so the medical examiner will determine the precise cause of death.
Police began searching Little Cottonwood Canyon for the body after a jogger noticed a motorcycle had been parked in the canyon for several days. Deputies traced the bike to Bailey and began their search about 9 a.m., Hudson said.
