Newel Floyd Hardman, 73 years old. He was born on December 3, 1928 in Myton, Utah. He passed away on August 21, 2002. He was one of 10 children born to John William and Mable Turner Hardman.
The family moved to Salt Lake City, in 1948.
He married his High School sweetheart LaVonda Price on March 11, 1952 in Tennessee, where he proudly served his country in the Army, as a paratrooper at Fort Campbell Kentucky. He worked for the Salt Lake City Water Dept. for many years, where he made many lifelong friends. He loved his family and the outdoors.
Survived by his wife, LaVonda Hardman; daughters: Debbie and Jackie; grandchildren: Andy, Lacey, Brandon and Candy; great-granddaughter, Destiny Hope, due in November. His brothers: Ken (Molly), Van (Leah) and George; sisters: Delila, Reba, Mary, Nola and Yolanda. Plus many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2002 at 12 noon at the Riverside Ward Chapel, 1100 West 500 North. Family and friends may call Friday evening at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
